It takes longer than you realize

Why you "feel" stuck and how to overcome it

I saw this Facebook post and maaaaaaaaan did it resonate!!!

Have you ever felt so sad or tired that you just wanted to give up? You're not alone. Even people in Bible stories felt this way sometimes.

In the Bible, there's a story about Elijah. The guy was really going through it. He sat under a tree and told God he wanted to die. If you’ve never been there, keep on living.

But here's the wild part: God sent an angel to help Elijah. The angel told him to rest and eat. It's like when your parents tell you to take a nap and have a snack when you're cranky.

Even after that, Elijah still felt bad. The angel had to come back and say it again. This shows us that feeling better doesn't always happen right away.

The story teaches us some important things:

1. It's okay to feel down sometimes.

2. Taking care of yourself (like resting and eating) is super important.

3. Getting better can take longer than we want it to.

4. It's not wrong to know your limits.

So, here’s the crazy part of all this! Elijah had a emotional-spiritual need, but God sends a spiritual being to give him a physical solution.

A lot of times we think that when we have an emotional need, it automatically requires a spiritual need. I.e. fasting, prayer, scriptures, etc.. As important and helpful as those are; sometimes, the solution is PHYSICAL. We need to eat (properly) and rest. I cant tell you how many times I’ve encountered irritable people; and really, they just hadn’t slept enough or eaten enough.

SOMETIMES OUR SPIRITUAL, MENTAL, AND EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS REQUIRE PHYSICAL SOLUTIONS

  • Change of diet

  • Community

  • Nature walks

  • Altruism

  • Exercise

Pair that with counseling and therapy, and you might be able to get unstuck from the emotional cycle.
