Experience God's Love to Transform Your Health
Experiences with God Are Transformative

Experiencing real genuine love, has many added health benefits. Not just from other humans, but from the ultimate transcendent loving reality (that we call God).
God is love does not equal “God is nice”. He is, but it mean so much more, a lot more!
In Christian theology, the statement "God is love" (1 John 4:8) has profound implications, deeply influencing our understanding of God's nature, the Trinity, human relationships, and salvation.
1. Nature of God:
The essence of God as love emphasizes His relational and dynamic nature. Love is not merely an attribute of God but His very essence. This understanding moves us away from viewing God as a distant, impersonal force and towards seeing Him as intimately involved in a relationship with creation.
2. Trinitarian Relationships:
The doctrine of the Trinity is central in Christianity. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit exist in a perfect, eternal communion of love. This perichoretic relationship (mutual indwelling) is the model for all Christian relationships. The Trinity shows that love involves self-giving, reciprocity, and unity without loss of distinctiveness.
3. Creation and Incarnation:
God's creation of the world and the Incarnation of Christ are acts of divine love. God created the world out of love, desiring to share His love with His creation. The Incarnation—God becoming human in Jesus Christ—is the ultimate manifestation of divine love. Through the Incarnation, God enters into the fullness of human experience to restore humanity to communion with Him.
4. Human Relationships:
Being made in the image of God means that humans are created to reflect God's love. Love becomes the foundation of Christian ethics and relationships. The call to love God and neighbor is a call to participate in the divine life. This has practical implications for how we treat others, emphasizing forgiveness, compassion, and self-sacrifice.
5. Salvation and Theosis:
In Christianity, salvation is often understood as theosis, or divinization—becoming partakers in the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). Love is the means and the end of this process. Through love, we are transformed and drawn into the life of the Trinity. The sacraments, prayer, and ascetic practices are ways to grow in love and thus in likeness to God.
6. Eschatological Vision:
The eschatological (end-time) hope is also framed in terms of love. The ultimate goal is the full realization of God’s kingdom, where love reigns supreme. This future state is depicted as a wedding feast—a profound symbol of intimate and joyous union with God.
In short, when Christians say "God is love," it means that God's love is a big part of who He is and affects everything. It helps us understand that God is all about relationships and being close to us. The Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—love each other perfectly and show us how to love. God made everything out of love, wanting to share His love with us, and Jesus came to show God's love by becoming one of us and saving us. Because we're made to be like God, we should love others. Being saved means becoming more like God through love, and our ultimate goal is to be united with God in a place where love is everything. It tells us to live with love, showing God’s love in our lives and becoming closer to Him.
Try experiencing God (Love) through contemplative and hesychastic prayer, scripture reading, fasting, altruism, serving others, community, and nature.
