Were You Aware of This?

One Thing That You May Not Be Aware of May Be Costing You Your Sanity

Although there is no quantifiable way to measure this, but I wonder how many wander in their lives with no sense of the Sacred or Divine presence. Wandering aimlessly, without purpose or meaning, beyond surviving (or thriving) until 70-80 years old, then dying. That's not to say those who don't have a sense of the Divine, lives don't have meaning, but rather, that there are levels, or layers of meaning to life. Knowing that you came from, and are going back to, God, can change a lot of things. The below are things that, people can potentially get through other means, but I want to encourage Christians, to know that their faith, and seeking of the Divine presence, has immediate health and mental benefits.

  • Reduced Stress/Anxiety: Knowing that God is watching over you can provide a major sense of calm and security. This can help lower your stress and anxiety levels big time.

  • Stronger Sense of Purpose: Feeling connected to God often gives people a deeper sense of meaning and direction in life. Having this clarity about your purpose can boost your overall well-being.

  • Support Through Hardships: During tough times, being aware of God's presence can make you feel less alone and more supported. This perceived help can uplift your spirits and increase resilience.

  • Positive Mindset: For many, an awareness of God promotes an optimistic, grateful perspective on life. Maintaining this positive mindset can improve both mental and physical health.

  • Mental Clarity: Practices like prayer, especially hesychastic and contemplative, that increase God-awareness may help quiet the constant mind chatter, bringing a sense of mental clarity and focus.

  • Pain Coping: Some studies suggest that religious/spiritual awareness can help people cope with and feel less subjective pain from injuries or illnesses.

  • Lower Blood Pressure: The positive impacts on stress levels may also lead to lower resting blood pressure readings for some individuals.

  • Longer Life: Researchers have found connections between religious/spiritual awareness and longer lifespan, potentially due to increased happiness and lifestyle factors.
